We have a long and vibrant history of worship and mission in this community. The first church in Drayton was the Methodist Church which was established in 1847. Drayton became a strong Methodist centre in that era and continues to have deep Christian roots.
The year 1925 marked the union of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. The churches brought many active groups into union, for all ages.
The building that we currently worship in was built in 1892. This year (2017) we celebrate 125 years of worship in this church. The first stained glass window in Drayton United Church was donated in 1951 and over the years we have been blessed with many more gifts.
An addition was added to the back of the church in 1994, which gave us extra washrooms and an elevator.
We worship on Sunday’s at 10:30 from September through June, and at 9:30 in July and August. We have an active choir, praise band, and children and youth ministry with an average of 20 children and youth on Sunday morning. Everyone is welcome to come out and join us for worship; we are a welcoming and inclusive congregation.
